See You at the Pole! Your Moral Action agency highly encourages all our pastors, youth ministers, and youth/children leaders to begin preparation for Wednesday, September 22. See You at the Pole is held at your local Mississippi schools. This is a global day of prayer as young students, children and their leaders gather around the flag pole to pray.
SYATP is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event. It began in 1990, as a grass roots movement. Twenty years later, millions of Lord believing kids pray on their school campus. This event is designated for the fourth Wednesday in September yearly.
In Mantachie, MS, the adults meet at the same hour at the Town Hall flag pole. We pray for our children and those that lead them. The daycare centers in Mantachie also schedules events for the SYATP.
I urge all our churches to join in and seek God’s face. We have the greatest kids in our own BMA of Mississippi congregations. Let’s go Mississippi.
Help with Dropout Prevention! Continuing our discussion regarding Mississippi schools and their campuses, let me urge our churches, pastors, and youth leaders to promote our students to stay in school. Twenty six (26%) percent of students in Mississippi dropout annually. This ratio spans every race and socio-economic group. Especially hard hit are the 9th - 12th grades. Moral Action of Mississippi is a proponent of all students acquiring a better life for themselves. We need strong Christian high school and college educated leaders for the future.
Slow to Recognize the Porn Dangers! Online pornography continues to grow at alarming rates. It threatens our children, teens, and young adults. The spread of porn has changed America and affects many lives and homes. Many Christian adults have been slow to recognize the ease with which pornography is presented to your children. Images are on the pop-up screens of the computers. Sexual predators lure your children, via the internet, in their bedrooms, at their desks, and in their own homes..
Check out this site ,“National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families (NCPCF)." This is an evangelical non-profit organization whose purpose is to protect children and families from porn. Check out links on the site for many pointers and advice regarding sexual purity. Christians must continue to fight the evils of these days.
